Boys Freshmen Basketball defeated Benedictine last night, 54-42. They earned their first home victory of the season. They will be back in action today at 4:30 at the Coliseum when they kick off the triple header versus Holy Name.

Game Recap

Hockey fell to Garfield Heights on Saturday evening, 5-4. Senior Ryan Sustersic had a hat trick in the close loss, with three assists from fellow senior Drew Beck. Beck also contributed the additional goal, but the Panthers came up just short against the Bulldogs.

The Panthers will look to secure their first victory of the season next Friday when they travel to Brush at 7:30.

Girls Varsity was victorious at home this evening, as they defeated Parma, 62-23. The Lady Panthers were lead in scoring by senior Megan Scheibelhut, who contributed 15 points in the winning effort. Sophomore Ally Winnen hit double digits with 11 points.

Girls Varsity returns to action next Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM when they take on Massilon Washington at the Coliseum.

Elyria Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship 2017-18 (1)

The Elyria Sports Hall of Fame will be awarding an annual scholarship to students who are attending a high school in Elyria, Ohio. The amount of the scholarship will be up to $500 with the possibility of four (4) awards being granted each year. The check will be sent directly to the student upon showing proof of acceptance at a post high school institution. The award will be given at the Elyria Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet in May.

Eligibility requirements for this award are as follows:

Applicant must:
• attend an accredited high school in Elyria, Ohio (Elyria High School, Elyria Catholic High School, First Baptist, or Church of the Open Door)
• have earned a cumulative grade average of a 3.0
• have participated in a high school sport
• complete all parts of the attached application
• submit three (3) letters of recommendation from high school faculty, coach, or school administrator with the application.
• be a student in good standing at his/her high school

This application must be received by the scholarship committee no later than Friday March 2, 2018 to be considered for this award. Relatives of Hall of Fame Board of Trustees are not eligible for this award. The completed application should be sent to:
