The Elyria Catholic varsity baseball team went on the road and beat Rocky River 12-6 on Thursday (May 11) afternoon.

With the win, the Panthers are now 19-3 overall and 11-0 in the Great Lakes Conference.

EC scored a run in the top of the first on Thursday before the Pirates responded with a pair of runs in the home half of the inning. The Panthers hung eight on the board in the second inning to build a 9-2 lead and never looked back.

Sophomore Jack Laird had two hits and drove in two runs while his classmate Leighton Banjoff also brought in a pair.

EC will take the weekend off before finishing up GLC play on Monday (May 15) with a 4:30 p.m. game at Bay Village.
